BRE Innovation Park

The BRE Innovation Park is an extraordinary grouping of some of the world’s most sustainable buildings – zero and low carbon homes grouped around a landscaped area designed to provide a cohesive community space.

BRE Innovation Park

Launched in June 2005 by the then Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. John Prescott, the BRE Innovation Park demonstrates the latest and most innovative developments in sustainable construction. Its primary aim has been to catalyse change within construction and move the industry forward. This has been achieved by embracing recognised best practice and innovating in response to new challenges.

The park currently comprises of a number of houses that have been designed to the Government’s Code for Sustainable Homes; which measures the sustainability of a home (1 to 6 star rating) against categories such as energy, water, waste, wellbeing, ecology and bio-diversity, to give a holistic sustainability score.

Plans are now underway for the Phase 2 expansion of the BRE Innovation Park which will include three more demonstration buildings, and renovations of two the existing properties on the Park.
