The new age of healthcare
In addition to the construction of new homes, the (former) Re-Thinking School will be refurbished to form a mini-healthcare campus for Phase 2 if the Innovation Park.
The campus will demonstrate the major changes that are taking place in the delivery of community healthcare in the UK, which are being driven by the future needs of our aging population.
The Willmott Dixon Community Healthcare Campus
The campus will demonstrate how best to achieve zero carbon in line with the NHS’s 2018 target. It will also feature:
- A smart reception area incorporating a smart card system that links to a patient’s online medical history. The card prompts any checks or tests required by the user, such as blood pressure and sugar levels, which are automatically taken before an appointment.
- A telecare monitoring area that is able to link to Assisted Living homes in the neighbourhood.
- A pharmacy of the future.
- Passively ventilated consulting rooms.
- A carbon neutral non-invasive suite (with a solar wall).
- Second floor, covered roof terrace that incorporates a fitness area and a healthy food growing area.
