Phase 2 Landscape Scheme
The British Homes Awards, in partnership with The Landscape Institute and BRE, have run a competition to find a suitably innovative landscape design for the Park’s expansion.
The winning design was announced at the EcoBuild event on 3 March – see the Winning Landscape Scheme pages.
The design competition set out to highlight the importance of landscaping in creating sustainable communities. The winning scheme will be expected to successfully link the original Park area with the new buildings, and complement the existing landscape to create a sense of community, home and healthy lifestyle. It will demonstrate how landscaping can contribute to sustainability and climate change mitigation, and to the wellbeing and security of building occupants. The short-listed schemes were assessed on key design principles as well as buildability, construction timescale, adaptability, maintenance and longevity.
