Getting to INSITE09


Please try to use public transport

Only limited amounts of parking are available at BRE. We will be running a free shuttle bus from Watford Junction Station every 15 miniutes between the station and INSITE09 from 8am to 6pm, and encourage you to use this service.


by train:

Travel to Watford Junction Station and then use our free shuttle bus service to BRE (or by bike, below)

by bike

Directions to BRE for cyclists from Watford Junction Station and the nearer Garston station, using low-traffic routes suited to riders of all ability are detailed on the Bikely website. Our main gate security staff can provide you with a visitors site map with the location of onsite bike parking, showers and changing facilities, which you are welcome to use.


by air:

BRE is less than 60 miles from London's four major airports. More complete detail: How to get to BRE (PDF)

  • From London Gatwick or London Luton, there are train services to Watford Junction or St Albans City stations. From Watford Junction, use our free shuttle bus. From St Albans, the 321 bus stops at the end of Bucknalls Lane (ask for St Michael's School)
  • From London Heathrow, the quickest public transport route is via the Green Line or Virgin coach services.
  • From London Stansted, the Stansted Express train to London Liverpool St Station, then tube to Euston and train service as above.

by road:

Please be aware that car parking is limited on our site and you should aim to use public transport where possible. You may prefer to drive to Watford Junction Station and park there, then travel on the free shuttle bus to INSITE09. BRE is just off the A405 between Watford and St Albans. Nearest motorway junctions are M1 Junction 6 and M25 Junction 21A or Junction 19. Yellow road signs will guide you to INSITE09

Users of SatNav or route planning websites, please note:
Entering the BRE postcode, WD25 9XX into some satellite navigation or other online route planner sites may try to take you to the rear of our site (via Mount Pleasant Lane and Bucknalls DRIVE) from where there is no access for visitors or deliveries. Instead, enter the postcode as WD25 9NH. This will take you to Bucknalls LANE, Watford. BRE is towards the end of this residential street, just after crossing a bridge over the M1 motorway


Weather forecast and what to wear

The Innovation Park and Big Build area and parts of the exhibition area are out of doors. You will not need Hi Viz jackets, hard hats or other PPE to visit The Big Build area, but you may like to check the local weather forecast (from BBC Weather) and dress accordingly. The whole exhibition area is paved.
